From what I’ve heard they don’t want to put anything in cars until it’s been really tested. Also, the RC hasn’t been redesigned since before the new infotainment system came out

Doesn't the Lexus system not have a touch screen? I know car play can be set up to work with physical controls but it's really designed for a touch interface.

The new LX, LS, RX and UX all have CarPlay with the non-touchscreens and it works fine. I think the RC hasn’t been redesigned to introduce it. Lexus was late to bring it in and the ones that are still to be done are waiting for it.

They have released a retro-active update for Apple CarPlay. Based on the headlights, that RC F might be too old to qualify though. If it is an 18, it should be eligible for the update. The local dealership needs to get on that.

No touch screen except the ancient GX460. The new 2020 RX will get one though.

CarPlay using the touch pad isn’t hateful though. And I’d rather not have a screen covered in smudges anyway.

The UX, NX, ES, RC, LS, and LC have, or can have CarPlay retroactively updated if they use the Generation 10 Nav/Info system.

The LX, RX, GX, IS, and GS do not have CarPlay and have hardware that is too outdated to receive an update for it.

The 2020 RX will get CarPlay and Android Auto.

How’s the 8 speed shifting in this compared to how it does in the IS-F? Did you try shifting manually from 8 to 4 and then flooring it to see how long it took?

I was surprised by how little interior space there was even for two people , considering how much the thing weights.

The interior ergonomics were good, I just didn’t like the stupid controller or touch pad for the screen.

The controller doesn’t bother me because I’ve had enough Lexus . I’ll have to check the shift but it defiantly feels faster in a strait line, but not nearly as playful in the corners

Is trite but you feel that weight. Only 200 or so lbs but it feels really significant.
